Origin

Jeremy Nixey developed a Not-for-Profit care home and community hospital business as a Not-for-Profit spin off from The Secondary Housing Association For Wales (SHAW) which he had developed some years earlier.

In 1995 he separated The Care Business from the Housing Association (renamed Link Housing Association) and retained The SHAW name as Shaw Homes for which He secured from HMRC registration in 1994 as an Exempt Charity.

Development

1995 -2006
Shaw Homes developed a chain of homes and hospitals financed by debt secured against long term PFI and PPP contracts won in tenders from  the NHS and Local Authorities.

2006
Jeremy led a management buyout which created Shaw Healthcare Group, they acquired all the contracts, assets and liabilities of Shaw Homes and left the organisation with no staff, or liabilities or assets except £12.5 Million Cash.

Shaw Homes changed its name to the Shaw Foundation and established the stream of activities which continue today.
